THE PLAN AT A GLANCE

For October 2026, choose Perry for the fair, Milledgeville for a free-entry downtown festival, or Musella for a corn-maze day. Compare the full cost and the exact date before choosing.

Three different kinds of fall day

Fall events around Middle Georgia can look interchangeable in a social feed: rides, food, music and families outside. The practical choice is between the type of day you want and what your budget covers. This guide compares three published 2026 options rather than treating every attraction as the same sort of festival.

Dates and prices below were checked on October 12, 2026. They describe the 2026 season only. If you are reading after these dates, use the organizer links to find a newly announced season; do not assume that a future edition will fall on the same weekend.

Perry: Georgia National Fair, October 8–18

The Georgia National Fair ticket page confirms October 8–18, 2026. Its adult prices differ between the page’s headline prices and embedded ticket options. Confirm the final price for your ticket type and purchase channel before paying; the children’s category for ages 3–10 is listed at $5.

Before choosing a pass, decide whether your main goal is rides, exhibits or a particular show. General admission should not be treated as an unlimited-ride ticket. Some ride products have date restrictions; read those before selecting a day. Keep food and optional purchases in a separate allowance.

Our suggested approach is to choose one must-see activity from the official fair schedule, then leave room around it. That helps prevent a family from crossing the grounds repeatedly to chase a list of start times. The Try478 fair listing gives you a place to save the idea and return to its official links.

Milledgeville: Deep Roots Festival, October 17

The organizer’s 2026 FAQ lists free admission to the downtown festival, including the concert stage. It identifies Saturday, October 17 for the KidZone pass, with gates opening at 10am. Food, purchases and the paid KidZone ride pass are separate from free entry.

Choose this option when your group wants flexibility to browse, listen and decide what to buy along the way. Free entry can make it easier for people with different budgets to join the same outing. It does not make every activity or meal free.

Agree on a meeting place before separating to browse. A downtown street festival is a different setting from a fenced attraction with one obvious meeting point. Review the organizer’s map and rules, and use the Milledgeville city page for other ideas if you are staying longer.

Musella: Dickey Farms fall weekends

Dickey Farms lists its 2026 corn-maze season for Saturdays and Sundays, September 19–November 1, from 10am–6pm; the final maze ticket is sold at 5pm. General admission for ages 3–59 is listed at $15.95, with other age categories on the official page.

The activity site is at 3440 Musella Road and is separate from the farm market. Save the destination for the activity you actually intend to visit. A market stop and a maze visit have different schedules and costs, even though they share the farm name.

Choose a farm day when you would rather build the outing around one location. Leave room for weather changes and optional purchases. The Dickey Farms listing is a useful starting point for the date and location details.

Choose one main event, then check it again

For a budget-led choice, start with the downtown festival’s entry policy. For a ride-focused day, compare the fair’s admission and ride products. For a farm outing, check the maze date and arrival time. These are different buying decisions, not a ranking of which event is universally best.

Use this weekend’s listings to narrow the date. Confirm weather notices, ticket availability and the current organizer schedule before leaving. Keep a backup plan in the same general area so a change does not require rebuilding the entire day.
